Administration Studies

Administration studies covers the running of an organisation — how decisions get made, how people and money are managed, and how a business keeps working day to day. In the UK it is taught as business administration and management: a three-year BA or BSc at undergraduate level, a one-year top–up for students who already hold an HND or diploma, or a one-year masters at postgraduate level.

Most programmes start with the foundations — accounting and finance, marketing, organisational behaviour, operations and business law — then let you specialise. Common specialisms include human resource management, project management, international business, marketing and business analytics. Teaching mixes lectures, seminars, group projects and a final-year dissertation or consultancy project, and many courses offer a placement year.

Entry Requirements

Undergraduate entry normally rests on a completed +2, A–Level or equivalent; the top–up route on a relevant HND or diploma; postgraduate entry on a recognised bachelor’s degree. All routes need acceptable English language evidence, and the exact requirement differs by university and intake.
